Weather Update: Easterly Winds Return, Bringing Rain Opportunities to Tamil Nadu!

Good morning! We are tracking significant shifts in the weather patterns today, particularly the full ingress of the easterly wind into Tamil Nadu. This analysis is based on our personal weather assessment, and we always recommend following the official forecasts and announcements from the Indian Meteorological Department and government sources.

Current Conditions: A Shift in the Air

As of today, December 16, 2025, high pressure has shifted toward the regions of Rajasthan. Meanwhile, dry air continues to persist over Central India and Central Andhra.

The arrival of the easterly wind has brought a noticeable change: the impact of the cold air has lessened, resulting in a slightly warmer minimum temperature during the early morning hours.

Rain Forecast: Duration and Intensity

Due to this change, rainfall is beginning in certain areas. Satellite images taken at 5:30 AM show dense cloud convection (thick rain clouds) hugging Tamil Nadu, Sri Lanka, and the adjoining parts of the South Bay of Bengal, and these clouds are moving towards Tamil Nadu.

The rainfall is expected to last for the next 24 to 36 hours across Tamil Nadu up to the Delta regions. For Southern Tamil Nadu (below the Delta), the rain may continue for up to 48 hours.

High Expectation Areas (Moderate to Heavy Rain)

Based on the ECMWF ensemble forecasts, the Delta districts and Southern Tamil Nadu are dominating the list of places expected to receive the highest rainfall over the next three days.

Areas that can expect good moderate to heavy rain include Cuddalore, Pondicherry, and areas stretching south to Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Karaikal, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli districts. Coastal districts in some areas may experience heavy rainfall.

Specifically, over the next 24 hours, chances for widespread moderate rain, with the possibility of heavy rain in certain coastal areas, exist for Tiruvarur, Pudukkottai, Cuddalore areas, Ramanathapuram, Shivaramapuram, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli districts. There are also possibilities for heavy rain in regions like Manjolai and Valparai. Moderate rain is also expected in Dindigul and Pollachi districts today.

Light to Moderate Rain Areas

Other districts can expect light to moderate rain during this episode of the easterly wind over the next 48 hours. This includes Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Madurai, Trichy, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, and Ooty.

Within the next 24 hours, areas like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Ranipettai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and the Nilgiris districts are likely to experience widespread light to moderate rain.

Regional Forecasts (Next 24 Hours)

• Kerala: Mostly light rain is expected.
• Andhra Pradesh: Light to moderate rain is expected in Tirupati and Chittoor districts.

இது என்னுடைய தனிப்பட்ட வானிலை அனுமானம். அதிகாரப்பூர்வ வானிலை மற்றும் முன்னறிப்புகளுக்கு இந்திய வானிலை ஆராய்ச்சி மையம் மற்றும் அரசு அறிவிப்புகளைப் பின்பற்றுங்கள்.

இன்றைய வானிலை அனுமானம் டிசம்பர் 16, 2025 ஐப் பொறுத்தவரையில், உயரழுத்தம் மேலே ராஜஸ்தான் பகுதிகளுக்கு ஷிப்ட் ஆகியுள்ளது. அதே நேரத்தில், வரண்ட காற்று மத்திய இந்தியா மற்றும் மத்திய ஆந்திரா வரையிலும் நீடிக்கிறது.

### கிழக்கு திசை காற்றின் வருகை

இப்போது, **கிழக்கத்திய காற்று முழுவதுமா தமிழகத்துக்குள் வந்திருக்கிறது**. இந்த  காற்று தாக்கத்தால் , குளிர் காற்றினுடைய தாக்கம் குறைந்துள்ளது. இதன் காரணமாக விடியற்கால இருக்கக்கூடிய குறைந்தபட்ச வெப்பநிலையில் ஒரு மாற்றம் ஏற்பட்டு, சற்று குளிரின் தாக்கம் குறைந்துள்ளது.

### மழைக்கான வாய்ப்பு மற்றும் கால அளவு

இந்த கிழக்கு திசை காற்று காரணமாக சில பகுதிகளில் மழை தொடங்க இருக்கிறது.

**செயற்கை கோள் புகைப்படம்** (காலை 5 மணி 30 நிமிடங்களுக்கு எடுக்கப்பட்டது) அடர்த்தியான மழை மேகங்கள் (டென்ஸ்ஆன கிளவுட் கன்விக்ஷன்) தமிழகத்தையும் இலங்கையையும் ஒட்டியும், தெற்கு வங்கக்கடல் பகுதிகளலயும் இருக்கிறதைக் காட்டுகிறது. இந்த மேகங்கள் தான் இப்போது தமிழகத்தை நோக்கி நகர்ந்து வருகின்றன.

இந்த மழை வாய்ப்பு டெல்டா வரலையும் அடுத்த **24லிருந்து 36 மணி நேரம் வரையிலும்** தமிழகத்தில் நீடிக்கலாம். தென்தமிழகம் வரலையும் மழை **48 மணி நேரம் வரையிலும்** தொடர்வதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும்.

## கனமழை எதிர்பார்க்கப்படும் பகுதிகள்

ECMWF என்சம்பல் ஃபோர்காஸ்ட் தொடர்ந்து காட்டக்கூடிய அமைப்புகள் படி, அதிகபட்சமான மழை கொடுக்கக்கூடிய இடங்களில் டெல்டா மற்றும் தென்தமிழகம் தான்  உள்ளது.

** மிதமானது முதல் கனமழை** வரையிலும் பதிவாகக்கூடிய மாவட்டங்கள்:

*   கடலூர் மற்றும் பாண்டிச்சேரி.

*   மயிலாடுதுறை, நாகை, காரைக்கால், திருவாரூர், தஞ்சை, தூத்துக்குடி, நெல்லை தென்காசி மாவட்டங்கள்.

அடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில், திருவாரூர், புதுக்கோட்டை, கடலூர் பகுதிகள், ராமநாதபுரம், ராமேஸ்வரம், தூத்துக்குடி, தென்காசி, நெல்லை மாவட்டங்களில் பரவலாக மிதமான மழை, ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் கனமழையாகவும் இருக்க வாய்ப்பு இருக்கிறது. மாஞ்சோலை மற்றும் வால்பாறை பகுதிகளிலும் கனமழை இருப்பதற்கான சாத்திய கூறுகள் இருக்கும். திண்டுக்கல் மற்றும் பொள்ளாச்சி மாவட்டத்திலும் இன்றைக்கு மிதமான மழை பதிவாக வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும்.

### லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழை வாய்ப்புள்ள பகுதிகள்

மற்ற மாவட்டங்களில் அடுத்த 48 மணி நேரத்திற்கு லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழைதான் நம்ம எதிர்பார்க்க முடியும்.

அடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்திற்குள் லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழைக்கு வாய்ப்புள்ள மாவட்டங்கள்:

*   சென்னை, திருவள்ளூர், காஞ்சிபுரம், செங்கல்பட்டு, ராணிப்பேட்டை, வேலூர், திருப்பத்தூர்.

*   கிருஷ்ணகிரி, தர்மபுரி, சேலம், நாமக்கல், ஈரோடு, திருப்பூர், கோவை மற்றும் நீலகிரி மாவட்டங்களில் பரவலாக லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழை இருக்கும்.

*   மதுரை, திருச்சி, சேலம், ஈரோடு, கோவை, உதகமண்டலம் போன்ற மாவட்டங்களிலும் இந்த கிழக்கு திசை காற்று எபிசோடில் லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழைதான் எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.

### அண்டை மாநிலங்களில் வானிலை

அடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்திற்கு:

*   **கேரளா:** பெரும்பாலும் லேசான மழை பதிவாகுவதற்கான வாய்ப்புகளே இருக்கும்.

*   **ஆந்திரா:** திருப்பதி மற்றும் சித்தூர் மாவட்டத்தில லேசானது முதல் மிதமான மழை பதிவாகலாம்.

*   **கர்நாடகா:** பெங்களூர் மற்றும் மைசூர் மாவட்டங்கள்ல ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் லேசான மழை பதிவாகலாம்.

### பருவமழையின் முடிவுக்கு வருதல்

ராஜஸ்தான் கிட்ட இருக்கக்கூடிய அந்த உயரழுத்தம் மேலும் மத்திய இந்திய பகுதிகளுக்குள் டிரிஃப்ட் ஆகி, அதிலிருந்து வரண்ட காற்றை முழுவதுமாக தமிழகத்துக்குள்ள கொண்டு வரும். மத்திய இந்தியாவில இருந்து வரக்கூடிய வரண்ட காற்று (காண்டினென்டல் டிரை காற்று)  நம்ம அதிகமாக ஆக்கிறதோ ,  குளிர் நிலைமையை அதிகமாக்குதோ, இந்த அமைப்புகள் வடகிழக்கு பருவமலை ஒரு **"செசேஷன் பீரியட்"**-இல் (முடிவுக்கு வருகிற நிலையில்) இருக்கு என்பதை நமக்கு தெரியப்படுத்துகிறது.

தற்போது, ஐந்து நாட்கள்ல் பார்க்கப்பட்ட வானிலை படிமங்கள் ஒரு கன்சிஸ்டன்ட்டான டேட்டாவைத் தருகிறது. ஆனால் நீண்ட கால வானிலையைப் பார்த்தால் மாற்றங்கள் இருந்துகொண்டே இருக்கின்றன. அதனால் குறைந்தபட்சம் மூன்று நாட்கள்  சிறந்தது என எதிர்பார்க்கலாம்.
