Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Dry Spell Commences & Weak Easterly Trough in Bay to Impact South TN & Delta after 36 Hrs

Good morning! Following a continuous period of heavy rain, a shift toward dry weather (வரண்ட வானிலை) has commenced across Tamil Nadu. For accurate and official weather estimations, it is always recommended to follow the Indian Meteorological Research Center and government announcements.

The Arrival of Continental Dry Winds

The current change in conditions is primarily driven by the influence of continental dry winds (காண்டினென்டல் டிரைவின்ஸ்) originating from Central India.  The impact of this dry air has become noticeable, as Chennai and most parts of North Tamil Nadu have not seen rain over the last two days. Satellite imagery confirms this, showing dry conditions over most coastal districts, lacking any rain clouds.

Furthermore, the dry air mass has now reached parts of South Tamil Nadu, with rain clouds that were previously seen in regions like Tenkasi, Kutralam, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi now diminishing.

Short-Term Forecast: Dry Days Ahead

A significant factor in the immediate forecast is the presence of a weak trough system (வீக் ட்ராப்) located southeast of Sri Lanka. This weak system is projected to move further southwest, below Sri Lanka. Due to this movement and the prevailing dry winds, rain impact is expected to be minimal across most of Tamil Nadu for the next 24 to 36 hours, potentially extending up to 48 hours. Dry conditions are forecast to prevail in the majority of regions.

Over the next 24 hours, only isolated light rain is expected in a few areas of Tamil Nadu, including Mayiladuthurai, Nagai, Karaikal, Thiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari.

Temperature Drop and Fog

As the weather shifts, minimum temperatures (இரவு நேர குளிர்ந்தீன் குறைந்தபட்ச வெப்பநிலை) are expected to decrease in many areas. Residents should be aware of the high likelihood of increased dew and fog (பணியின் தாக்கம் மூடுபணியின் தாக்கம்). Hill stations may also see temperatures drop closer to their normal seasonal levels.

Potential Future Rain Events

Looking beyond the immediate dry spell, there is potential for localized rain as the week progresses. When the weak trough moves closer to Sri Lanka, easterly winds may introduce humid air into the Delta and South Tamil Nadu regions. If this occurs, these areas could receive rain as the continental dry air recedes. However, North Tamil Nadu is likely to continue experiencing the dominance of the dry wind, with only limited chances of rain expected by the weekend, if favorable conditions align.

For those looking ahead, the next significant easterly wind rain event is currently anticipated between December 16th and 18th.

Prior to the current dry spell, several southern districts did record rainfall over the last 24 hours. Districts reporting rain include Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Sivaganga.

வணக்கம்! இனிய காலைக்கு வரவேற்பது ரெயின்மேன் ஸ்டுடியோ. தொடர்ச்சியான மழை நிகழ்வுகளுக்குப் பின், தமிழகத்தில் தற்போது **வறண்ட வானிலை** (வரண்ட வானிலை) தொடங்கி உள்ளது. உண்மையான வானிலை அனுமானம் மற்றும் தகவல்களுக்கு இந்திய வானிலை ஆராய்ச்சி மையம் மற்றும் அரசு சார் அறிவிப்புகளைப் பின்தொடரவும்.

### வறண்ட காற்று ஏன்?

தற்போதுள்ள வானிலை மாற்றத்திற்கான முக்கிய காரணம், மத்திய இந்தியாவிலிருந்து வீசக்கூடிய **காண்டினென்டல் டிரைவின்ஸ்** (காண்டினென்டல் டிரைவின்ஸ்) எனப்படும் வரண்ட காற்று ஆகும். இது வடகிழக்கு பருவமழை விடைபெறுவதற்கு முன்பாக வரக்கூடிய "ஃபேடிங் டைம்" (ஃபேடிங் டைம்) ஆகும்.

இந்த வரண்ட காற்றின் தாக்கம் தற்போது தெளிவாகத் தெரிய ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது. இதன் காரணமாக, கடந்த இரண்டு நாட்களாக சென்னை உட்பட **வடதமிழகத்தில் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் மழை காணப்படவில்லை**. மேலும், சாட்டிலைட் புகைப்படங்களின்படி, தமிழகத்தின் பெரும்பாலான கடலோர மாவட்டங்களில் மழை மேகங்கள் எதுவுமில்லாமல் வறண்ட வானிலை நிலவுவதைக் காணலாம். இந்த வரண்ட காற்று தென் தமிழகத்திற்கும் நகர்ந்துள்ளதால், திருநெல்வேலி, தூத்துக்குடி, தென்காசி போன்ற பகுதிகளில் காணப்பட்ட மழை மேகங்களும் சற்று குறைவதைப் பார்க்க முடிகிறது.

இலங்கைக்கு தென்கிழக்கே ஒரு **வீக்கான தாழி அமைப்பு** (வீக் ட்ராப்) உள்ளது, இது மேலும் தென்மேற்கு திசையில் இலங்கைக்குக் கீழே பயணிக்க உள்ளது. அடுத்த 24லிருந்து 36 மணி நேரத்திற்கு (அதிகபட்சம் 48 மணி நேரம்) **மழையின் தாக்கம் பெரும்பாலான தமிழகத்தில் இருப்பதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்காது**. பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் **வறண்ட வானிலையே** நிலவுவதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும்.36 மணிநேரத்திற்கு பிறகாக இந்த தாழி அமைப்பின் காரனாக கிழக்குத்திசை காற்றுடன் கூடிய மழை டெல்டா & தென் தமிழகத்திற்கு மீண்டும் வர கூடும்.மழையின் தாக்கம் பற்றிய அப்டேட் நாளை பார்க்கலாம்.

அடுத்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில் தமிழகத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரையில், மயிலாடுதுறை, நாகை, காரைக்கால், திருவாரூர், ராமநாதபுரம், தூத்துக்குடி, தென்காசி, திருநெல்வேலி, கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டங்கள்ல் **ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் மட்டும் லேசான மழை**  வாய்ப்புள்ளது(*பெரும்பாலும் வாய்ப்புகள் குறைவு ).

### வெப்பநிலையும் பனியின் தாக்கமும்

வறண்ட வானிலை  நிலைக்கு மாறுவதால், பல பகுதிகளில் **இரவு நேர குறைந்தபட்ச வெப்பநிலை** குறைவதற்கும் வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும். மேலும், **பணியின் தாக்கம் மற்றும் மூடுபணியின் தாக்கம்** அதிகம் இருப்பதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும். மலைவாச ஸ்தலங்கள்ல வெப்பநிலை பொதுவாக இருக்க வேண்டிய நிலைக்குக் குறைவாகச் செல்வதற்குக் கூட வாய்ப்புகள் அதிகம் இருக்கும்.

### அடுத்த சுற்று மழை எப்போது?

இந்த வரண்ட காற்று விலகிச் செல்லும்போது, கிழக்கு திசை காற்று வீசுவதற்கு வாய்ப்புள்ளது. அப்படி வீசும் பட்சத்தில், அது டெல்டா மற்றும் தென் தமிழகத்தில் **ஈரமிகு காற்றைக் (மாய்ஸ்சர் ஏரை)** கொண்டு வந்து மழையைக் கொடுப்பதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும். வடதமிழகத்தில் மட்டும் வரண்ட காற்றின் தாக்கம் தொடர்ந்து நீடிப்பதற்கு வாய்ப்புகள் இருக்கும். அதிர்ஷ்டம் இருந்தால், வடதமிழகத்தில் இந்த வார இறுதியில் ஒரு சில பகுதிகளில் மட்டும் மழை கிடைக்க வாய்ப்புள்ளது.

அடுத்த ஒரு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க கிழக்கு திசை காற்று மழை நிகழ்வு **டிசம்பர் 16 முதல் 18 ஆம் தேதிக்கு** இடையில் தமிழகத்தில் ஏற்படலாம்.

### கடந்த 24 மணி நேர மழையளவு

கடந்த 24 மணி நேரத்தில் ராமநாதபுரம், விருதுநகர், தூத்துக்குடி, திருநெல்வேலி (நெல்லை), தென்காசி, மற்றும் சிவகங்கை மாவட்டங்கள்ல் மழை பதிவாகி உள்ளது. பெரும்பாலும் பெரும்பாலான பகுதிகளில் **மிதமான மழை வரலும் தான்** பதிவாகி இருக்கிறது.
