The Developing Weather System - Todays Forecast 04.11.2025
A major focus of the current forecast is the evolving low-pressure system. This system, which originated near the Myanmar region as a medium-level atmospheric swirl (à®®ீன் வடிமண்டல à®®ேடுக்கு சுழச்சி தாà®´் பகுதியாக), is now expected to strengthen. Experts anticipate that this low-pressure area will intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area (நன்கு à®…à®®ைந்த தாà®´் பகுதி).
This system is projected to move towards the region between West Bengal and Bangladesh. It is expected to approach the coast sometime tomorrow (relative to the broadcast date).
Why the Rain? The Role of Westerly Winds
Even as the low-pressure system moves north and east, its influence is being felt strongly across South India. The source notes that the presence of westerly winds (à®®ேà®±்கு திசை காà®±்à®±ு) over South Indian regions, including Tamil Nadu, due to this low-pressure area, is triggering convective rain (வெப்பச்சன மழை) along coastal Tamil Nadu.
Rainfall was already observed yesterday (November 3rd) in parts of North Tamil Nadu, including districts like Chennai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, and Tiruvannamalai.
Immediate Forecast: Next 24 Hours (Starting November 4, 2025)
The weather convergence is shifting southward, approaching the Delta districts. Rain is anticipated across Tamil Nadu and South Tamil Nadu in the coming days (tomorrow and the day after).

The continuation of the Northeast Monsoon (வடகிழக்கு பருவமழையினுடைய தொடர்ச்சி) is anticipated starting from the 11th (of November). East winds (கிழக்கு திசை காà®±்à®±ு) and rain are expected to commence around that time, with further updates to follow.
