Ensembles are also showing possible circulations near the Arabian Sea close to Kerala/Karnataka around Oct 6–7 and another circulation near Tamil Nadu. 🌧️ ECMWF ENS Long-Range Rainfall Signal – 12 October 2026: ECMWF ensemble guidance is currently showing an interesting low-pressure/cyclonic circulation signal over the Bay of Bengal around 12 October, with several ensemble members indicating a possible system developing over the Bay and moving toward the eastern/central parts of the basin. If this signal persists, it could bring an increase in rainfall activity over parts of Tamil Nadu and South India around this period. However, this is a long-range forecast nearly two weeks ahead, so the location, strength, track and associated rainfall can change significantly in subsequent model runs. Hence, this should be considered only as an early signal, and the rainfall potential needs to be closely monitored with the upcoming ECMWF ENS and other model updates. 🌦️
